The BOSS DS-2 TURBO Distortion is a versatile distortion pedal that builds on the legacy of the iconic DS-1. It was released in 1987 and is celebrated for its ability to deliver a wide range of distortion tones through its dual-mode design. The pedal's all-analog discrete circuit ensures a natural and responsive sound, with a low-noise design that's perfect for both stage and studio use.

Dual-Mode Versatility

The core of the DS-2's design is its dual-mode functionality, which provides two distinct distortion voices. Turbo I mode delivers a classic, midrange-focused distortion with a rich, full low end, making it ideal for rhythm playing and achieving a thick crunch. Turbo II mode, on the other hand, provides a high-gain, harmonically rich distortion with a pronounced midrange boost, perfect for cutting through a mix during powerful solos.

Remote Control and Tone Shaping

A unique feature of the DS-2 is its remote jack, which allows for the connection of an optional external footswitch (like the FS-5U). This enables hands-free switching between the two Turbo modes, making it a powerful tool for live performance. The pedal's active Tone knob provides precise control over high and low frequencies, allowing you to fine-tune your sound from bright and percussive to smooth and velvety.
