The Xone:43 - A Pure Analogue Powerhouse

The Xone:43 occupies a specific and well-defined position in the DJ mixer market: it is the professional analogue mixer that gives you the Xone filter and Total Kill EQ without the cost or complexity of the Xone:96. DJs who have played on any of Allen & Heath's larger mixers — the 92, the 96, the 4D — and who want that same analogue signal path in their own setup without paying club-install prices, have had the Xone:43 as their reference choice for years. The filter is the same VCF system: HPF, BPF, and LPF modes with the resonance control that goes from subtle to self-oscillation. The EQ is Total Kill on each of three bands. The crossfader is replaceable with an Innofader for scratch performance. If you don't need a built-in soundcard, the Xone:43 is the most cost-effective entry point to an authentic Xone analogue signal chain.

The Xone Analogue Signal Chain In A Four-Channel Club Mixer, Without The Flagship Price — Allen & Heath Xone:43

The Allen & Heath Xone:43 is a 4+1 channel analogue DJ mixer built around the same core signal chain elements that define the Xone range: the analogue VCF filter system, three-band Total Kill EQ on every channel, and fully balanced XLR main outputs. Four main channels accept Phono or Line sources via RCA, with individual gain controls and 9-segment LED metering. A fifth channel provides a flexible mic/aux input via XLR and stereo RCA connectors, with 2-band EQ for tonal balance. The analogue VCF filter delivers HPF, BPF, and LPF modes with adjustable cutoff frequency and resonance — the same mild-to-wild resonance circuit found in the Xone:92 and Xone:96, freely assignable across channels. The X:FX send/return loop integrates external effects hardware per channel, and the X:FX signal path can additionally be routed through the filter for layered processing.

The crossfader has three switchable curve settings and is both user-replaceable and Innofader-compatible for scratch and blend performance styles. Headphone monitoring is available via 3.5mm and 6.35mm front-panel outputs with split cue. Main outputs are balanced XLR; independent booth and record outputs are unbalanced RCA. The Xone:43 has no onboard USB soundcard — for an identical mixer with a 16-channel USB interface and DVS support, the Xone:43C is the companion model.

Both work excellent and are the best clip-on tuners I have used.
