The WA-87 R2 offers a faithful recreation of the classic 87-style studio microphone, approved by many engineers as one of the greatest all-round studio mics. With its smooth bass, detailed mids and clear top end, the WA-87 R2 delivers professional sonic character for vocals, instruments and room capture alike. 

Built for Versatility and Studio-Grade Performance

Featuring three selectable polar patterns (cardioid, omni and figure-8), a switchable -10 dB pad and a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter, this microphone is ready for loud sources, tight spaces or studio dialogue alike. Premium components—including an NOS Fairchild transistor and a custom Cinemag output transformer—ensure exceptional build and tone.

Housed in a nickel-plated brass body with a redesigned head-basket for improved acoustic environment, the WA-87 R2 comes supplied with a shockmount, hard mount and wooden storage box—making it ready for professional workflow and safe storage.
