The Electro-Harmonix EHX Tortion JFET Overdrive Pedal combines the warmth and responsiveness of tube amplifiers with modern versatility. Its JFET-based circuit emulates the dynamic characteristics of tube overdrive, while offering a comprehensive set of controls, including a 4-way Pre-Gain selector and a 3-band EQ. The footswitchable Boost section provides independent Gain and Volume controls, effectively creating a two-channel setup within a single pedal. Additionally, the balanced XLR output with cabinet emulation allows the pedal to function as a preamp, making it suitable for direct recording or live performances without the need for an amplifier.
