Every Instrument Welcome, One Compact Amp — Laney AH40 Audiohub, 40W, Three Channels, Graphic EQ And Digital Delay
The Laney AH40 is a 40W multi-input combo amplifier from the Audiohub series, designed to accommodate a wide range of sources — microphones, keyboards, electronic drums, acoustic and electric guitars, and playback devices — through three independent channels with simultaneous operation. Channel 1 accepts a balanced XLR or unbalanced 6.35mm jack input, suited to microphones and line-level sources. Channel 2 is a stereo unbalanced line input via two 6.35mm jacks, suited to keyboards, drum machines, and stereo playback. Channel 3 is a Hi-Z instrument input via 6.35mm jack, optimised for electric and acoustic-electric guitars, basses, and other instrument-level sources. A 3.5mm stereo aux input on the front panel handles phones, tablets, and MP3 players alongside the three main channels.
A master 5-band graphic EQ (±12dB per band) provides detailed tonal control across the full frequency range — more granular than the simple bass/treble EQ found on most combo amps at this size. Built-in digital delay with time, feedback, and level controls adds depth and dimension to instruments and vocals without external effects hardware. A front-panel 6.35mm line output feeds signal to a PA, additional amplifier, or recording device. A 6.35mm headphone socket allows silent practice and monitoring. The carpet-covered, dual-position kickback cabinet can stand as a conventional upright combo or tilt into kickback monitor position for in-ear monitoring angle on stage.
Dual-Position Cabinet
The kickback cabinet design is one of the AH40's most practical features for solo and duo performers. In the standard upright position, the speaker projects forward across the room as a conventional amp. Tilted into kickback position, the cabinet angles the speaker upward toward the performer's ears, turning the unit into a personal stage monitor. This flexibility means the AH40 can serve as the main PA for a small room, as a personal monitor on a larger stage, or as both simultaneously via the line output to a FOH system.
Three Channels, One Box
The simultaneous three-channel operation is what gives the AH40 its versatility. A solo artist can plug in a microphone on Channel 1, a keyboard on Channel 2, and a guitar on Channel 3, set individual levels, and have the 5-band EQ and digital delay available across the mixed output — all without a separate mixer. For presentations with music playback, the AUX input adds a fourth source without occupying any of the three main channels. Few combo amplifiers at this price point offer this level of input flexibility.
