Flexible Guitar Input & Tone Control

AXE I/O’s triple-topology input provides three distinct modes—PURE, JFET, and ACTIVE—allowing you to capture transparent, harmonically rich, or active pickup tones. The patent-pending Z-TONE® circuit gives unprecedented control over pickup interaction, with impedance adjustable from 1 MΩ (“sharp”) to 2.2 kΩ (“bold”), enabling you to fine-tune your guitar’s character for recording or live performance.

Transparent Mic Recording

Equipped with two ultra-low-noise Class-A PURE mic preamps with phantom power, AXE I/O delivers crystal-clear recordings of vocals, acoustic instruments, and pianos. These preamps maintain a wide 5 Hz – 32 kHz frequency response and 116 dB dynamic range, preserving the true sonic character of your instruments without coloration.

Tone Modeling, Reamping & Software Integration

The dedicated Amp Out allows direct connection to guitar amps or pedals for reamping, live Tone Modeling, or hybrid recording setups. Included AmpliTube 5 SE and TONEX SE software give access to thousands of amp, cabinet, and pedal models, as well as AI-driven Tone Modeling, with full integration into your DAW or standalone sessions. Use the included ToneNET service to explore over 6,000 presets and 10,000+ Tone Models for endless creative possibilities.

Advanced Control & Connectivity

AXE I/O provides extensive routing and real-time control. Two fully assignable external inputs allow connection of expression pedals or single/double switches, while MIDI In/Out connects keyboards, controllers, or floor units like iRig Stomp I/O. The front-panel Preset Knob and built-in tuner simplify workflow, and the included Control Panel software allows detailed configuration of input/output routing, controller settings, and monitoring preferences.
