The Nektar Impact GX Mini is a powerful, portable MIDI controller that fits easily into your backpack. Despite its size, it offers expressive performance and deep control over your DAW, making it perfect for musicians on the move.

With 25 mini velocity-sensitive keys, a joystick for pitch and modulation, and advanced features like Part 2 for layering and transposing, the GX Mini packs serious functionality into a compact frame.

Performance and control

The newly developed 25-key velocity-sensitive keyboard delivers a responsive and expressive playing experience. You can choose from three velocity curves to match your playing style. The joystick provides intuitive real-time control for pitch bend, modulation, or other MIDI messages, allowing for creative expression in any performance setup.

DAW integration

Nektar’s DAW integration brings essential control straight to your fingertips. Eight dedicated buttons give instant access to transport, track navigation, and key DAW functions across most major platforms, including Logic, Cubase, Ableton Live, and FL Studio. The buttons can also be MIDI assigned for full flexibility with unsupported software.

Part 2 function

The innovative Part 2 feature allows you to momentarily shift octaves, transpose notes, or layer sounds while performing. Holding a Part 2 button temporarily changes the keyboard’s range or channel, and releasing it instantly reverts back. This lets you play bass notes, leads, or layered parts in real time—ideal for live performance or quick idea capture.

Connectivity and setup

GX Mini includes a footswitch input for sustain or any other MIDI CC assignment, adding hands-free control to your setup. It connects via USB and is class compliant, working instantly with macOS, Windows, iOS, and Linux. You can also connect it to an iPad using Apple’s Camera Connection Kit.

Included software and lessons

Bitwig 8-Track is included, giving you over 50 software instruments and effects plus support for third-party VSTs. The Nektar Melodics bundle provides 40 free lessons and a fundamentals course to help you build your keyboard skills and improve your music performance.
