The Eventide H90 Harmonizer is a professional multi-effects pedal housing 74 algorithms and hundreds of factory programs on ARM-based architecture derived from the H9000 Harmonizer. Two algorithms run simultaneously per Program in either series or parallel routing, with true spillover between programs so reverb and delay tails complete naturally during preset changes. The H90 operates in Standard mode as a conventional stereo effects pedal, or switches to Dual Mode for four-cable-method amp integration, simultaneous processing of two independent stereo signals, or paired operation with a second device such as the Eventide MixingLink for combined vocal and guitar processing. Four insert points — two mono inserts plus the option of one stereo insert — can be positioned anywhere in the signal chain, allowing outboard effects to be incorporated in any configuration.

The algorithm library covers the full spectrum from studio-grade essentials to experimental sound design. Pitch and harmony algorithms include the new polyphonic pitch shifter with SIFT (Spectral Instantaneous Frequency Tracking) technology for accurate chord-following pitch shifting, Quadravox+ for four-voice intelligent harmonies, VocalShift and VocalTune from the Harmonizer+ vocal suite, and the classic PitchFactor algorithms carried forward from the H9 Max. Reverb algorithms include the legendary Blackhole infinite reverb, SP2016 algorithmic reverb, and a range of spatial, shimmer, and convolution-style reverbs. Delay, modulation, dynamics, distortion, and filter algorithms add depth. Granular additions — GrainMod, Stutter, Glitch, Cosmic Web — give access to textures that straddle the line between effect and instrument. Dual Algorithm Design And Routing

Each Program in the H90 contains two independent algorithm slots, each drawing on the full library, with the routing between them switchable between series (the output of Algorithm 1 feeds Algorithm 2) and parallel (both algorithms process the input simultaneously and are mixed at the output). This alone gives the H90 a depth of tonal combination that no single-algorithm pedal can match — a shimmer reverb feeding a delay, a pitch shifter in parallel with a chorus, or Blackhole feeding a granular stutter effect are all configured within a single footswitch press.

Performance Controls And MIDI

In PERFORM mode, six programmable footswitches provide direct hands-on access to mapped functions — bypass, tap tempo, reverb freeze, pitch flex, delay repeats, parameter locks — with momentary or latching behaviour selectable per switch. Three Quick Knobs with push-button function give immediate control over up to six assignable parameters per Program. The PERFORM HotKnob handles expression mapping. Two EXP/CTL inputs accept expression pedals, up to 3-button auxiliary switches, or CV signals. Full MIDI over 5-pin DIN or USB-C, with extensive CC and program change mapping.

H90 Control Software

The free H90 Control app for macOS, Windows, and iPad connects via Bluetooth or USB-C and gives full access to all H90 parameters, program editing, preset management, MIDI mapping, and firmware updates. User lists can be exported and imported between units.
