The Mackie MDB-1A Active DI Box is ideal for instruments and devices with active electronics, such as basses, guitars, and keyboards with preamps. Its active circuitry provides increased headroom and ensures distortion-free performance, making it perfect for both live and studio environments. The MDB-1A converts high-impedance, unbalanced signals into low-impedance, balanced outputs, ideal for connecting to mixing consoles or audio interfaces.
Designed for professional applications, the MDB-1A gives you flexible control with Polarity, Low Cut, and Ground Lift switches. Its Merge function allows stereo sources to be summed to mono, while the -20dB pad protects against high-output signals. With phantom power operation and Mackie’s rugged construction, this DI box delivers reliable, clean sound wherever you need it.
Flexible Control For Active Instruments
The MDB-1A features a high-impedance 1/4" input with a Thru connection for routing to stage amps or other devices. The Merge switch converts the Thru jack into a second input, perfect for combining stereo signals into a single mono output. The XLR output provides balanced audio with low noise, and the -20dB pad ensures that even hot signals stay clean. Phantom power operation simplifies setup in studio and live environments, while the durable metal housing ensures long-term reliability.
