The Soundcraft EPM8 mixer focuses on quality build and high audio performance while maintaining a clear, uncluttered control surface. Designed for live music, recording, houses of worship, rehearsal rooms, and multi-speaker installations, it delivers reliable, professional-grade sound without unnecessary complexity. Surface-mount technology is used throughout, with close-tolerance components providing accurate and repeatable EQ and gain settings.

At the heart of the EPM8 are the GB30 mic preamps, developed by Graham Blyth for Soundcraft’s 30th anniversary and also used in the larger LX7ii and GB Series consoles. These preamps provide high-resolution gain control over a 55dB range and offer +22dB headroom, ensuring transparent, distortion-free capture of vocals and instruments. True professional 48V phantom power supports all condenser microphones.

Precision Monitoring And Control

A standout feature of the EPM8 is the PEAK LED signal monitoring system. Using multipoint signal take-offs, the PEAK LED tracks potential overloads across the channel strip and illuminates more brightly as the signal approaches its peak. High-quality 60mm faders allow for smooth, precise adjustments, while the monitor and headphone outputs work in parallel, enabling performers to listen on headphones without interrupting the engineer’s monitoring of the mix.

Comprehensive Connectivity And Flexible Routing

The EPM8 is equipped with XLR and ¼” metal jack connectors, RCA phono stereo playback inputs, and record outputs. Each mono channel includes TRS insert sockets, and all channels feature high-quality EQ: 3-band with swept mid on mono inputs and 2-band on stereo inputs. Two configurable auxiliary buses offer versatile routing options for monitoring or effects, while the intuitive solo system ensures precise channel management. The compact, rack-mountable design ensures the EPM8 fits seamlessly into a variety of live and studio setups.
