BOSS HM-2W - Iconic “Chainsaw” Distortion, Refined for Today

The HM-2W revives the classic “chainsaw” distortion sound that defined Swedish death metal, while introducing refined modern performance. With a Waza Craft reissue, BOSS maintains the original sonic character in Standard mode and adds a Custom mode for deeper saturation, clarity, and tonal flexibility.

Dual-Mode Aggression & Articulation

Standard mode faithfully recreates the original HM-2’s aggressive mid-boosted tone. Custom mode delivers enhanced gain, tightened lows, and more harmonic content for heavier riffs. The added Waza Craft buffer lowers noise and provides a cleaner bypassed signal path.

Controls, Build & Usability

Featuring Distortion, Color Mix High, Color Mix Low, and Level knobs plus a top-mounted Mode switch, the HM-2W gives hands-on tone shaping in both modes. The metal chassis is rugged and pedalboard-friendly. It runs on 9V battery (≈30 mA draw) or PSA-series DC adaptor — available now at Audio Direct.
