The BOSS MD-500 is a powerhouse modulation pedal that delivers studio-level sound and an extensive range of effects. As the flagship modulation unit in the BOSS lineup, it features premium 32-bit AD/DA conversion, 32-bit floating-point processing, and a 96 kHz sampling rate for pristine audio quality. With 12 modes and 28 distinct modulation algorithms, the MD-500 offers everything from classic BOSS and Roland effects like the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and Dimension D, to new, cutting-edge "Prime" algorithms and originals like Slicer and Overtone.
A large graphic LCD screen provides an easy-to-use interface for deep parameter editing and viewing patch names. The A/B Simul mode allows you to use two patches simultaneously in series or parallel, offering a vast range of tonal possibilities. An external insert loop lets you place drive or other pedals between two modulation effects. The pedal also features MIDI I/O and a USB port for use with the free editor/librarian software, providing full creative control and patch management. It can be powered by batteries or an optional AC adapter, and offers both true bypass and buffered bypass operation.
