Ultra Slinky exists to solve a specific gap between two of Ernie Ball's most popular gauges. Regular Slinky's 10-46 is the industry benchmark for balanced tension and feel, but some players want a bit more low-end force without stepping all the way up to Power Slinky's heavier 11-48. Ultra Slinky combines the familiar 10-gauge top strings from Regular Slinky with the beefier low strings from Power Slinky, giving extra push on the bottom end while keeping the top strings exactly as responsive as players already know.

The Ernie Ball P02257 is an Ultra Slinky set from the Classic Rock N Roll range, made from pure nickel wire wrapped around a tin-plated, hex-shaped steel core wire for the warm, rich tone pure nickel strings are known for. The gauge (.010/.013/.017/.028/.038/.048) brings together the high strings of the ever-popular Regular Slinky set with the heavier low strings of the Power Slinky set, giving players extra force and definition on the bottom end without changing the familiar feel of the top three strings.

This hybrid approach makes the Ultra Slinky a practical middle ground for players who find Regular Slinky's low end a touch light but don't want the fuller tension of a complete step up to Power Slinky across the whole set. All Ernie Ball strings are precision manufactured to strict tolerances and specifications, ensuring consistency, optimum performance, and long working life.
