Why You Need the KS RD 1 for your Keyboard X-Stand

An X-form keyboard stand provides a height-adjustable platform — but out of the box, its support rails are designed for the flat base of a keyboard instrument, not for the irregular footprints of DJ controllers, laptop computers, mixers, or other production equipment. Controllers shift, laptops slide, and anything that doesn't have a wide flat base and a lower centre of gravity than a keyboard risks moving or falling on a standard X-stand rail without a proper surface underneath.

The Gravity KS RD 1 solves this by adding a full 100cm-wide by 48cm-deep solid steel support plate on top of the X-stand, providing a stable, flat working surface large enough to accommodate virtually any DJ, studio, or live production setup. It sits onto the stand's upper rails without screwing or clamping — open the X-stand, slide in, done. The 60kg load capacity covers even the heaviest controller or equipment configuration, the ventilation slots keep laptops cool during a session, and the powder-coated steel construction means it will take the same punishment as the stand it sits on without warping, flexing, or wearing out.

A Full Working Surface For Your X-Stand — Gravity KS RD 1 Rapid Desk, 100cm Wide, 60kg Capacity, No Fasteners Required

The Gravity KS RD 1 is a steel support plate for X-type keyboard stands, providing a 100cm-wide by 48cm-deep working surface suitable for DJ controllers, DJ mixers, laptops, production hardware, and other studio or live equipment. It fits onto the upper bars of any X-form keyboard stand with a tube diameter of 25 to 35mm — the KS RD 1 slides onto the stand via slots on the underside and is held in place by the weight of the stand opening against the plate, requiring no screws, clamps, or fasteners. Setup is immediate: position the stand, slide in the plate, open the stand.

The plate is powder-coated steel, 1000mm wide, 465mm deep, and 43mm in maximum height at the edges. Total loaded weight capacity is 60kg. Note that the X-stand used in conjunction must also be rated to the intended load — Gravity's own KSX 2 X-form stand is rated to 60kg and is a natural companion to the KS RD 1. The ventilation slots machined into the plate's surface allow airflow beneath a laptop or other heat-generating device, preventing the surface from trapping heat during extended use. At 6.62kg, the plate adds meaningful stability mass to the top of the stand without being impractical to carry separately. The KS RD 1 is the support plate only — the X-stand is sold separately.
