The Ibanez GIO miKro GRGM21M is a short-scale, 3/4-size electric guitar built on the same platform as the standard GRGM21, with one key distinction: a maple fingerboard with black dot inlays in place of the jatoba board and sharktooth inlays found on the standard model. The maple fretboard delivers crisp, bright highs and strong upper-mid presence, a noticeably different tonal character from the warmer jatoba board.
The basswood body is bolted to a maple GRGM neck with a 22.2" scale length and 24 medium frets. A pair of Infinity R humbucking pickups deliver an accurate, tight sound with excellent dynamics that holds its clarity even under heavy gain settings, controlled via volume, tone, and a 5-way pickup selector for a wider tonal range than a standard 3-way switch. The F106 fixed bridge enriches sustain and allows string height to be adjusted easily and independently per string. Hardware is finished in chrome.
The GRGM21M is part of the miKro range's expanded colour and fretboard lineup, inspired by the classic 1987 "Ibanez Rebirth" RG series — vibrant finishes paired with maple fretboards, distinct from the standard GRGM21's more understated jatoba-board colourways.
