The PC12MHCE's Grand Concert body with its Venetian cutaway is a genuinely different playing and tonal experience — smaller, with a nipped-in waist that sits comfortably against the body, and a sweeter, more balanced midrange voice that suits fingerstyle playing particularly well. The all-okoume construction, finished in open pore rather than heavy gloss, lets the top vibrate more freely, adding clarity and resonance that a thicker finish would dampen.

A Comfortable Grand Concert Body Built For Clarity And Fingerstyle Playing — Ibanez PC12MHCE, Open Pore Natural

The Ibanez PC12MHCE is a Grand Concert-shaped acoustic-electric guitar with a Venetian cutaway, built from an okoume top, back, and sides in an open pore finish that allows the wood to resonate more freely than a thick gloss coat would permit. The PC nyatoh neck carries a 20-fret laurel fingerboard with white dot inlays, meeting the body at the 14th fret. A tortoiseshell soundhole rosette and red tortoise pickguard complete the classic Performance Series aesthetic. The compensated plastic saddle sits in a laurel bridge fitted with Ibanez Advantage bridge pins for improved tuning stability and easier restringing compared to standard pins. Chrome die-cast tuners provide reliable tuning.

Electronics consist of an Ibanez under-saddle pickup connected to the Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp, which includes bass, treble, and volume controls plus a built-in tuner, powered by a 9V battery and feeding a 1/4" output jack.

Factory-fitted with Ibanez IACS6C strings (.012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053) at 11mm string spacing.
