The LD Systems MAUI 28 G3 is a compact, powerful and elegantly designed column PA system delivering 1,030W RMS (2,060W peak) and 127dB maximum SPL in a fast-assembling, all-in-one package that requires no stands or additional cables to deploy. Ideal for DJs, smaller bands, mobile entertainers and event sound at weddings, corporate events and concerts, the MAUI 28 G3 combines a 12" bass reflex subwoofer with two aluminium column elements each housing 12 x 3.5" midrange drivers and 2 x 1" neodymium tweeters — delivering a wide, precise and homogeneous sound across a 120° x 30° dispersion field from 37Hz all the way to 20kHz. The columns are designed as cardioid speakers, providing controlled low-mid and midrange sound at the front with up to 18dB of attenuation at the rear for a clean stage sound and reduced monitor bleed.

The BEM-optimised HF waveguide carries high frequencies to the very rear of the audience area, and midrange phase plugs ensure even, consistent sound distribution across the full dispersion field. LD Systems’ Dynx DSP Gen.2 provides distortion-free sound reproduction even at maximum volume, with automatic setup detection for fast and intuitive operation. Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC and SBC decoding adds wireless streaming versatility, and connectivity includes two combo XLR/TRS inputs, XLR line outputs, a Sub Out and a RJ45 SysLink port for system linking. The 12" subwoofer is housed in a 15mm birch plywood cabinet with a rugged polyurea coating for road-ready durability, while the column elements feature a lightweight powder-coated aluminium housing. A second MAUI 28 G3 subwoofer can be added for up to 6dB of additional bass, or configured in cardioid subwoofer mode at the press of a button.

The MAUI 28 G3’s column elements are engineered as cardioid speakers, concentrating sound projection towards the audience while attenuating rear-facing output by up to 18dB — resulting in a cleaner stage environment with reduced feedback risk and improved overall system intelligibility. The BEM-optimised waveguide ahead of the tweeters ensures high frequencies are projected consistently across the full audience area including the very rear rows, and midrange phase plugs work alongside the crossover filter to minimise harmonic distortion and interference for a transparent, vibrant and detailed sound across the entire 120° x 30° dispersion field.
