Steinberg Cubase Artist 15 is the mid-tier version of Cubase, positioned between the entry-level Elements and the fully featured Pro. It provides a comprehensive music production environment capable of handling complex multi-track recording, detailed MIDI programming, professional mixing, and creative sound design, covering everything most producers, composers, songwriters, and gigging musicians will ever need in a DAW. Cubase Artist 15 receives the full set of new features shared across all three tiers: AI stem separation, the new melodic pattern sequencer, WaveLab Go ARA audio repair and analysis, Groove Agent SE 6, Folder Track group channel routing, the revised articulation and expression map system, the redesigned Hub, scalable stock effects, 4K video export, and the new automation shortcuts. The Writing Room Synths collection — a library of production-ready vintage synth sounds developed in LA and Stockholm songwriting sessions — is included alongside Retrologue, Padshop, Verve, and Trip.

Cubase Artist 15 includes VariAudio for pitch and timing correction of vocal and monophonic recordings, Chord Pads for chord and progression triggering, multi-track AudioWarp for simultaneous timing alignment across multiple audio tracks, and the full Pattern Editor including the new melodic pattern sequencer. The MixConsole provides professional mixing with the full channel strip, group and FX channels, and up to 32 physical output buses. 64 audio tracks, unlimited MIDI and instrument tracks, and around 67 included effects plugins complete a package that handles production from initial recording through to final mix.

Artist vs Pro

Cubase Artist 15 does not include the Control Room monitoring environment, Dolby Atmos and surround sound support, SpectraLayers One spectral editing, Spectral Comparison EQ, the full Modulators system, the Advanced Audio Engine, or the 16-bus (Pro) vs 32-bus (Artist) physical output bus configuration. For commercial studio engineers, immersive audio producers, or users who need the complete unrestricted Pro environment, Cubase Pro 15 is the right choice. For everyone else, Artist 15 is very unlikely to be a limiting factor.
