Featuring a 3.5-inch colour touchscreen with app-like Launcher interface, the X8 offers seven recording modes and full manual control when required. Users can record up to eight tracks simultaneously, process audio onboard with EQ, compressor, limiter, reverb, and more, and connect external microphones or line-level devices via four XLR/TRS inputs. For video projects, wireless timecode sync and USB audio streaming simplify post-production workflows.

App-Based Workflow for Fast Setup

The X8’s Launcher screen allows quick selection of preset recording modes tailored for your application, whether multi-track music, podcasts, interviews, or field recordings. Manual mode provides full control over input levels, stereo positions, and onboard audio processing, with a recording guide to help configure settings.

Premium Microphone Design and Flexibility

Two detachable 14.6 mm condenser microphones provide large-diaphragm clarity and can be rotated between A-B or X-Y patterns for wide or precise stereo capture. Combined with dual A/D converters and 32-bit floating point processing, the X8 records with exceptional detail and dynamic range.

Multi-Track Recording and USB Interface

Record up to eight tracks simultaneously (six individual inputs + stereo mix). The X8 can function as an 8-in/2-out USB audio interface for live streaming, DAW recording, or voiceover work. Onboard HDDA mic preamps ensure ultra-low noise, clean audio capture for every session.

Wireless Remote Control and Timecode Sync

Control the recorder remotely via optional AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter and the free Portacapture Control app. Wireless timecode synchronization with Atomos AtomX Sync and UltraSync Blue ensures perfect alignment of audio and video in multi-camera setups.
