The Wharfedale Pro CPD 1600 is a professional stereo power amplifier delivering 2 x 620W RMS at 4 Ohms, designed for touring, rental and fixed installation environments where reliable Class AB performance, consistent power and easy long-term maintenance are essential. Built around a heavy duty toroidal transformer, it delivers smooth and stable output to the amplifier circuits even when AC supply fluctuates, ensuring consistent and dependable performance across a wide range of operating conditions. With a damping factor of greater than 300, a slew rate of over 40V/µs and a signal-to-noise ratio of 100dB or greater, the CPD 1600 offers excellent control, headroom and audio fidelity across its full 20Hz–30kHz frequency response.
Stereo, parallel and bridge modes provide flexible system configuration, with bridge mode delivering up to 1200W RMS at 8 Ohms for high-demand mono applications such as subwoofer amplification in larger PA systems. XLR link outputs allow convenient signal routing to additional amplifiers, and a switchable limiter helps prevent clipping under demanding conditions. As with the rest of the CPD series, the CPD 1600 features a removable front grille and cleanable air filter for straightforward routine maintenance — keeping airflow and cooling efficiency at their best even in the dustiest and most demanding environments. Comprehensive protection circuits cover thermal, overcurrent, DC and output short circuit faults, and the amplifier is backed by Wharfedale's 3 year warranty for complete peace of mind.

Continuing the practical design philosophy of the CPD series, the CPD 1600 features a removable front grille and cleanable air filter that can be maintained in moments without tools — simply unscrew the grille, brush off the filter and replace it. The continuously variable speed fan further optimises thermal management across all operating conditions.
