The Wharfedale Pro CPD 2600 is a high-power professional stereo power amplifier delivering 2 x 1000W RMS at 4 Ohms, designed for professional touring, rental and fixed installation environments that demand powerful, efficient performance and long-term reliability. Unlike the CPD 1000 and CPD 1600 which employ Class AB topology, the CPD 2600 steps up to Class H technology — improving efficiency, reducing heat generation and delivering clean, controlled output at high power levels where thermal management becomes increasingly critical. Built around a heavy duty toroidal transformer, it ensures stable and consistent power delivery to the amplifier circuits even under fluctuating AC conditions, with a damping factor of greater than 300, a slew rate of over 40V/µs and a signal-to-noise ratio of 100dB or greater across its full 20Hz–30kHz frequency response.
Stereo, parallel and bridge modes provide flexible system configuration, with bridge mode delivering up to 1940W RMS at 8 Ohms for the most demanding high-power mono applications including large subwoofer systems and high-output single-channel setups. XLR link outputs allow convenient signal routing to additional amplifiers, and a switchable limiter protects against clipping under sustained high-output conditions. The removable front grille and cleanable air filter — a hallmark of the CPD series — allow routine maintenance to be carried out in moments, keeping cooling efficiency at its best throughout the amplifier's working life. Thermal, overcurrent, DC and output short circuit protection circuits provide comprehensive safeguarding at all times, and the CPD 2600 is backed by Wharfedale's 3 year warranty.
Class H Topology & Toroidal Transformer For High-Power Efficiency
The CPD 2600 employs Class H amplifier topology, which improves on the efficiency of Class AB designs by dynamically scaling the supply voltage to track the audio signal. This reduces unnecessary heat generation at high output levels, improving reliability and thermal performance during sustained high-power operation — making the CPD 2600 particularly well suited to demanding touring and rental environments where the amplifier may be driven hard for extended periods. The heavy duty toroidal transformer underpins this with smooth, stable power delivery regardless of AC supply fluctuations.
Easy-Clean Air Filter For Long-Term Reliability
Like all CPD series amplifiers, the CPD 2600 features a removable front grille and cleanable air filter for quick and straightforward routine maintenance.
